Little Book Swappers Club has been hooking little ones and their families into books since 2019. Our workshops provide families with 90 minutes where they can spend quality time with their little one; immersing themselves in a little space of magic, wonder, exploration and discovery away from this screen filled world we are living in. We know and have seen first-hand the vital role that reading to little ones plays in a child’s all round development and our mission and passion is underpinned by this and the belief that the power of books and stories is limitless!
Our workshops are unique!
They are inspired by wonderful stories that inspire quality talk, conversations and priceless special moments between little ones and their grown-ups. We encourage children to get stuck into a whole range of Hooks into Books story inspired activities giving children the opportunity to play, create, imagine and become little storytellers.
Our workshops are jam packed and from the minute you are greeted by either Rachel, our dedicated primary school teacher with a passion for inspiring young readers or Cath our fabulous, experienced workshop leader your little one will be encouraged to go and explore and get stuck in!
We love the buzzing vibrant atmosphere inside our Little Book Swappers Club Workshop and love the imagination and excitement that those little ones and their families bring.
Each workshop is carefully crafted to engage children aged 2 and above in story inspired play, craft and discovery activities; lovingly known as our Hooks into Books!

The Book Swap is our building block
At the core of our club lies a unique concept - the Book Swap element. This distinctive feature sets us apart by promoting a culture of sharing, exploration, and community within our workshops. The Book Swap allows children to bring a piece of their own world into the club, exchanging stories that hold special meaning to them. In return, they get to explore new narratives and expand their literary horizons through the diverse selection in our Book Swap Box.
The idea behind the Book Swap element stemmed from a desire to instil not only a love for reading in children but also a sense of generosity and connection. Through this exchange of stories, we aim to nurture a spirit of reciprocity and empathy, teaching young minds the joy of giving and receiving in equal measure.
